UPDATE:  The man has died, according to the NFTA,

"#Update – NFTA-Metro is very sorry to report that this afternoon’s rail incident has been ruled a fatality. The investigation is ongoing."

 

Officials with the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority say that a man jumped in front of a moving train, according to WKBW. The man sustained serious injuries. The Metro Rail was shut down just before 12:30 pm from Lasalle to University, both inbound and outbound.  The NFTA's Newsroom tweeted about the incident at 1:33 pm on Thursday, October 29, 2020,

".@tapd1404 are investigating an incident at LaSalle station in which a man appears to have jumped in front of the train. Rail service is not running from University Station. Trains continue from Canalside and Humboldt. Extra buses running from Humboldt to University Stations."

The NFTA tweeted that service has now been restored,
