New York’s Hottest Vegan Restaurant Is In Buffalo

The vegans of Western New York have been waiting for a restaurant like this for a long time, and it officially opens in Buffalo on July 26.

The restaurant, Strong Hearts Buffalo, may sound familiar by its name because it initially got its start in Syracuse…and it has only been available there – until now.

Strong Hearts Buffalo announced back in March on its Facebook page that they would be opening this new location.

“When we closed Strong Hearts on The Hill in 2021, we said we would focus our efforts into growing elsewhere. Well, say hello to elsewhere,” the owners, Joel Capolongo and Nicholas Ryan, said.

The new restaurant is located at 295 Niagara Street, on the west side of Buffalo, where the old Ru’s Pierogi used to be.

If you have ever been to the Syracuse location, it will have a similar look and atmosphere.

Strong Hearts has been around the Syracuse community for about 14 years and at this point, the business feels that they are finally able to successfully run two fully vegan restaurants, even if they are 150 miles apart.

Strong Hearts offers plenty of food options for our vegan friends, and they are surprisingly good! Take a look at some of the menu options below:

Mac N' Cheese ($8)- The secret? They use their own house-made cashew cheese sauce…and guess what? They have a gluten-free option!

Nachos ($8 half or $13 full size) - They use their own house-fried tortilla chips, with vegan chorizo, black beans, guac, vegan sour cream, jalapeno peppers, roasted corn salsa, and pickled red onions.

Wild West Burger ($15) -It’s a Beyond Meat burger, topped with tempeh bacon, BBQ sauce, and french-fried onions, on a pretzel bun.

Perhaps their vegan wings are the most popular.
