New Technology Center Open For Incarcerated Parents
According to The Challenger News, now families have a new and improved way of communicating with loved ones that are incarcerated. On August 15th, the Osborne Association and the Community Health Center of Buffalo had a celebration opening of the FamilyWorks Video Teleconferencing Program.
This new technology connects families with eight New York State prisons. The prisons had to cancel visitations due to the pandemic, According to The Challenger News, Senator Tim Kennedy said.
The negative impact on children with incarcerated adults can be overlooked. I thank the Osborne Association and the Community Health Center of Buffalo for their approach.
The FamilyWorks Video Teleconferencing Program is located on the 2nd floor of the Community Health Center of Buffalo at 34 Benwood ave. in Buffalo. According to The Challenger News, funding for this program was made possible by a $180,000 grant from Senator Tim Kennedy.
According to The Challenger News, Majority Leader Crystal People-Stokes said,
Family seperation by incarceration is one of the most devastating things that can happen to a child. This program is just another example of how our commitment to providing a way to keep familes together no matter what their challenges might be.
