Movie About Sabres Fans Showing Virtually This Month
Even though the Buffalo Sabres aren't playing right now, you can still get your hockey fix by checking out this documentary about die-hard Buffalo Sabres fans.
The movie "The Fan Connection" shows the love Buffalo Sabres fans have for their team thru the eyes of three different sets of Sabres fans.
According to their website, the movie is a "fly on the wall" look at these fans.
The Fan Connection is a deeply personal fly-on-the-wall look at the lives of die-hard fans over a hockey season. Ultimately, it is a heart-warming story of what it means to be a fan, identifying with a city, and the power of ordinary citizens to affect change
The movie feature three different sets of fans. Mark, who grew up in Buffalo. Mickey, Michel, and Frances, a grandparent/granddaughter team that hopes the Sabres will the Stanley Cup in their lifetime, and Renee and Hannah, a mother and daughter who use the Sabres to stay connected with Chris who passed away when Hannah was seven years old.
The movie is being screened virtually at the Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center thru February 25th.
