Monae Davis Wins Best Breakthrough Athlete at The Espy’s
Little league pitcher Monae Davis won big last night at the Espy Awards. The 14 year old beat out wide receiver Odell Beckham and a few others for "Best Breakthrough Athlete". She looked absolutely gorgeous as she gave her acceptance speech. She thanked the other nominees, her parents, coaches and teammates for helping and supporting her.
Now this is who young adults should look up to. She made headlines after she was the first African American girl that played in the Little League World Series and also pitched a "shut out" in the series. She also covered Sports Illustrated Magazine.
Way to go Monae!!
