
Legendary Boxing Promoter Butch Lewis Dies
The boxing world is mourning the loss of Butch Lewis. The veteran boxing promoter who worked with Joe Frazier, Muhammad Ali and Michael and Leon Spinks has died.
According to blackamericaweb.com, Lewis just turned 65 last month.
There’ s word that he died over the weekend of a massive heart attack.
Lewis was best known in the ring for wearing a tuxedo without a shirt and being involved in some of sport’s biggest fights.
He began his boxing career in the 1970’s before branching out into music and entertainment.
Lewis was honored before the Zab Judah-Amir Khan in Vegas over the weekend by ring announcer Michael Buffer and given a 10-bell count.
