Everyone wants to manage their money better and save, so I'm embarking on a series of interviews with KeyBank about financial fitness. You can catch them on air between 10 am and 2 pm each Thursday or online HERE.

In a recent interview with Tamika Otis, director of KeyBank's Business Boost & Build program in upstate New York, we discussed the challenges that come along with starting your own business and how KeyBank can help you navigate them.

You can listen to the full interview here:

Tamika started off by giving a brief summary of how the Business Boost & Build program came to be:

It's an initiative designed to transform neighborhoods by helping microenterprise, startup, scaleup, and community members thrive. It was formed through a historic grant from KeyBank in the amount of $24 million to Jumpstart, which is a venture development organization based in Cleveland, Ohio, and from the KeyBank Foundation. It's the largest single grant the KeyBank Foundation has ever awarded.

I then asked her what exactly the program can provide to small business owners and entrepreneurs seeking assistance:

The program provides capacity building for local organizations who already provide entrepreneurial support services to individuals in Buffalo who have an entrepreneurial idea but don't know how to grow it or those who are already leading existing startups and small businesses and are eager to accelerate their growth.
