The Buffalo Bills are wrapping up training camp on Thursday with a morning practice, before heading back to One Bills Drive in Orchard Park. The end of camp is always a welcomed time for players and coaches, as they get to go back home and sleep in their own beds.

The first preseason game of 2022 will be on Saturday at Highmark Stadium against the Indianapolis Colts. Kickoff will be at 4 pm.

The big question everyone wanted to know heading into the first preseason game was "how much, if at all, would the starters play?"

On Thursday morning, head coach Sean McDermott said that starting quarterback Josh Allen would not play against the Colts on Saturday.

Allen not playing in the first preseason game is not a surprise. He also did not play in last year's first preseason game against the Detroit Lions, nor did he play against the Chicago Bears in the second preseason game.

He did, however, play a quarter of the third preseason game, against the Green Bay Packers.

With Allen not playing, I doubt we see other offensive starters out there, other than maybe the offensive line, where we could see some veteran free agent signings in there blocking for the likes of rookie running back James Cook and backup quarterback, Case Keenum.

The defensive starters shouldn't see much playing time but expect to see rookies Kaiir Elam and Christian Benford out there, including third-year cornerback, Dane Jackson.
