Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde Finally Get Respect From The NFL
The NFL regular season is almost here. It'll start September 8th, when the Buffalo Bills visit the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football.
The Bills are the Super Bowl favorites and have arguably the best roster in the entire NFL. That roster is led by quarterback Josh Allen, with Stefon Diggs, Dion Dawkins, Mitch Morse, Dawson Knox, Tre'Davious White, Matt Milano, Von Miller and Ed Oliver also having a key role.
The Bills also have who many consider the best safety tandem in the league -- Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde.
It's still hard to fathom that neither player was named in the NFL Top 100 in the past, but that changed in 2022.
Both Poyer and Hyde were revealed in the NFL's Top 100 Players list on Sunday night. Hyde came in at number 50, while Poyer was revealed at number 45.
The NFL Top 100 is a list of the league's top 100 players, as voted on by the players. NFL players are given a top 20 list and asked to fill it out. The top 100 answers are then counted down by The NFL Network.
Believe it or not, Poyer has never been named to a Pro Bowl, despite being named an All-Pro in 2021. Hyde is a two-time Pro Bowler (2017, 2021), but has never been named an All-Pro.
It's evident they have both never received the full credit they deserve but it's nice to finally see them getting respect from their peers with the NFL Top 100.
Poyer and Hyde are the backbone of the Bills defense and the backbone of the team in general.
