Jay-Z's Roc Nation label is being sued by a company known as Volcom, due to infringement based upon usage of their logo. Roc Nation’s diamond stone which was used in ads is similar to Volcom's logo which has been trademarked since 1991. Volcom is a lifestyle brand that manufactures clothing and accessories, and Roc Nation is what it is, this is where the confusion may occur. Volcom hasn’t disclosed the amount of money they’re suing for but they do feel that their authenticity has been compromised. Volcom are suing Jay's company for unfair competition, infringement, false designation of origin and other charges that they hope will stick.
What do you think, do they have a case?
