
How Cold And Snowy Will January Be In Buffalo?
This past weekend was brutally cold. The snowfall might not set any records, but it was pretty constant into Sunday. Looking forward into the New Year, can we expect more of the same?

As Buffalonians know, snowstorms and blizzards can happen anytime during the winter season. In 1977, at the end of January, the blizzard only brought 9.6 inches of snow, but wind gusts of up to 69 miles per hour, according to Forgotten Buffalo.
Eight years later, the Blizzard of 1985 also known as the Six Pack Blizzard, dropped 33.2 inches of snow on Western New York. Then mayor at the time, Jimmy Griffin, told residents, “Stay inside, grab a six-pack and watch a good football game.”

Old Farmer's Almanac Predicts The Forecast For January In Buffalo
According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, we will start the month off with mild weather and showers. Moving into January 11 through 14, 2025, we can look forward to sunny weather, but it will be chilly. January 15 through 22 has the potential for a lake-effect snow storm and cold weather. Finally, at the end of the month, from January 23 through 31, it will be very snowy and cold.

I don't know about you, but I am very much ready for winter to be over. I grew up in warm climates, so I still haven't gotten used to Buffalo winters. Be sure to stock up on your winter supplies and get ready for whatever January will bring!
