Jessica took to Facebook to vent about a neighbor putting a note on her door and apparently, opening up the door to her home as well.

She posted the story on Facebook and people who read the post seem to be split on whose side they are on.

Jessica tells the story that her 110 pound boxer/shepherd was outside barking and that while nobody was home, a neighbor went over to the house, let the dog inside and the left a note.

The note said:

2:36 PM

YOUR DOG HAS BEEN OUTSIDE(AT LEAST 20 MIN THAT I KNOW OF) IN THIS EXTREME COLD.

The dog's owner goes on and defends the situation. She says that whoever left the note entered their home and let the dog in while her husband was picking up their daughter from school.

"If you have lived near us long enough then you know Marshall likes to be outside, is very talkative and has a garage opened and heated for him".

As you can imagine everyone is arguing about who is write and wrong:

  • One side says the dog should be inside and not barking and bothering everyone.
  • Another side says that the neighbor should mind their own business.

Either way, I think we can all agree, you probably should not open up somebody's door to their house. That seems to be crossing the boundary line. Take a look at the note that was left on the door and the detailed story that she posted on Facebook below.

Can you leave your dog outside in these temperatures in New York State?

According to the SPCA:

"Appropriate shelter for dogs left outdoors) states that anyone with custody of a dog left outdoors must provide the dog with shelter appropriate to its breed, size, physical condition, and climate, adequately protecting the animal".
