The legal tampering period for the start of NFL Free Agency begins tomorrow at noon, EST. Teams can legally negotiate and talk with unrestricted free agents who are slated to hit the open market on Wednesday at 4 pm.

The Buffalo Bills still have plenty of players who will become unrestricted free agents but they decided to re-sign one fan favorite on offense at the 11th hour.

According to the Bills, they have officially re-signed Isaiah McKenzie to a two-year contract, keeping the wide receiver/kick returner in Buffalo through the 2023 season.

McKenzie was mainly the 5th wide receiver on the depth chart in 2021, but had a larger role when the Bills sustained injuries to Emmanuel Sanders and Cole Beasley. He also was the Bills main kick and punt returner in 2021.

This move makes sense because it gives the Bills more flexibility in free agency and the draft. While wide receiver is an important need this off-season (upgrading the depth), it’s less of a need with McKenzie coming back and gives them another kick returner option.

It doesn’t hurt that McKenzie us a huge fan favorite here in Buffalo and I’m sure many fans are thrilled he’s staying put.
