New York is considered a 'blue state', but what about Western New York? As America and even New York seem to be more divided than ever down party lines, let's take a look at how each county in WNY voted.

Elections over the past eight years seem to be more divisive than ever. Once fairly civil, it seems like there has been a lack of ethics and professional courtesy in politics lately. The shift seems to have taken place in the past decade or so. The U.S. is essentially a two-party political system. I know independent voters would disagree, but George Washington, our first president, was the only independent elected to the highest office and many independents fail to make it past the primaries.
There have been 16 Democrat presidents and 19 Republican presidents throughout the history of the United States, according to MSN. Trump won the election over Vice President Harris by 1.62 percent, which certainly isn't quite a landslide. However, in many counties around New York State, he did win by a landslide. Let's take a look at how he did in each county in WNY.

Donald Trump: 60.26 %

Kamala Harris: 32.73 %
Donald Trump: 65.79 %
Allegany County
Kamala Harris: 27.65 %
Donald Trump: 71.63 %
The conclusion is that most of WNY is Trump territory, but Buffalo, which is the second largest city in New York State, ultimately made it Harris territory.
