The other NFL franchises in "New York" have been paying attention to what has been going on in Western New York over the last five seasons.  So much so, that the New York Giants have dipped into the Buffalo Bills front office to find their new General Manager.

We told you a couple of weeks back that the Giants had requested permission to interview the Bills Assistant General Manager Joe Schoen.  Well, that interview took place just over a week ago via Zoom with Giants president John Mara, chairman Steve Tisch and senior vice president of player personnel Chris Mara.  Schoen then advanced to the second round of interviews, along with Chiefs executive director of player personnel Ryan Poles, and 49ers assistant general manager Adam Peters.

All three received in-person second interviews at the Giants facility in East Rutherford, New Jersey.  Then on Friday afternoon, the team announced via Twitter that Joe Schoen had been chosen as the team's new General Manager, replacing Dave Gettleman who 'retired' at the end of the season.

Schoen had been with the Bills since he arrived in 2017 with the team's General Manager Brandon Beane, and head coach Sean McDermott.

He started his football life as the quarterback at DePauw University as a freshman and later played wide receiver, and served as team captain during his senior season.  Professionally, he has worked for The Carolina Panthers starting as an intern in their ticket office, The Miami Dolphins where he spent his last four years with the team as the Dolphin's director of player personnel, and the last 4 seasons here in Buffalo with the Bills.
