CBP officers encountered a 24-year-old citizen of Honduras at the Peace Bridge after he made a wrong turn. The driver did not present the proper documentation, so he was taken in for a secondary inspection. During the secondary inspection, officers discovered that the man, Franklyn Hernandez Giron was a member of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang. Giron is now facing removal proceedings.

Area Port Director Gaetano Cordone said, “This example of the dangerous individuals our CBP officers encounter highlights the dedication and commitment these officers have to keeping our communities safe. I’m proud of the work our officers do every day to safeguard America.”
