Gabriel Davis In Tears Hugging Josh Allen Makes Bills Fans Cry

I have memories of what my mom and dad used to always say to me as a kid, "time will heal all wounds."

While time does smooth heartache, there are some things that never fully go away. A breakup is the first thing you think of, but also, sports losses are sadly in that category as well.

Buffalo Bills fans will never get over what happened on Sunday night. The Bills seemingly had the game won twice against the Kansas City Chiefs in their AFC Divisional Round game, but ultimately lost in overtime, 42-36.

The game is being called arguably the best NFL playoff game ever by neutral fans, but it's one of the most painful losses in Buffalo sports history.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen Buffalo on two unbelievable drives in the 4th quarter, including a 17-play drive which saw Josh convert two 3rd downs and two 4th downs. The last 4th down conversion was a 27-yard touchdown pass to Gabriel Davis on 4th and 13, which gave the Bills a 27-26 lead, and later a 29-26 lead after a crazy play by Allen to complete a pass to Stefon Diggs.

After the Chiefs retook the lead with 62 seconds left on a 64-yard Tyreek Hill touchdown pass, but Allen led the Bills down for a 19-yard touchdown pass to Davis with 13 seconds left.

The Bills gave up a game-typing field goal on a soul-crushing end of game sequence and the Chiefs won the coin toss in overtime and scored a touchdown to end the game.

Davis ended up having one of the greatest games ever by a wide receiver in an NFL playoff game, catching 8 passes for 201 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Allen and Davis were shown hugging after the final touchdown pass, and Davis was visibly in tears as they embraced for a while on the Bills sideline.

Allen said he was just thinking about the fact that Patrick Mahomes had 13 seconds left, which ended up being enough.

The sad fact is that the loss had absolutely nothing to do with Allen and Davis' performances. It's the classic case to be made that wins are not a quarterback stat, and never will be.

Allen finished the game 27 of 37 for 329 yards and 4 touchdowns, with another 68 yards rushing in a legendary playoff performance.
