Law enforcement is needed, with the number of officers that are retiring and the need for new young officers to meet the needs of what's going on in today's society, many residents in Niagara Falls are open to and looking forward to having a more diverse group of law enforcement officers. I think it's pretty fair to say that it is definitely understandable that someone that grew up in the city, would have a better grasp on what's happening in the city as a law enforcement officer.

According to wivb.com, the Niagara Falls Police Department and the Niagara County Sheriff's Office are getting together to host a recruitment event. The event will take place this Saturday at the Christ Redemption Church in the city of Niagara Falls from 1 pm to 3 pm. Owen Steed is the organizer of the event.

We've seen what was going on last year, particularly in the minority community, in order to solve these problems we have to get involved.

One of the nice things about this recruitment event is, anyone that who is looking to join the law enforcement team will be able to talk to officers one-on-one about the job. The test will be held on September 18 for both departments, and men and women who are ages 19 to 34 are welcome to show up and there will be other officers on site to help them sign up for the test.

I can agree, that there is a need for more diversity in the city, it just makes sense to me that people who grew up in the neighborhood will do a great job policing the neighborhood.
