DJ Hassan Talks With Buffalo’s Own Kidd Cold About The Late DMX
People all over the world are still mourning the loss of a great musical icon in the rap game and an incredible actor. Earl Simmons ( DMX ) died at the age of 50 on April 9, many people in Buffalo considered DMX family and really grew attached to him as a person and an artist. I think it was because of the number of times DMX visited Buffalo, and also, a lot of people could relate to his music and his life story.
During the early 90s, DMX days with Ruff Ryders was a great time for every DJ in Buffalo, you could not go to one party or club in this city without a DJ giving you a complete DMX music set. There was literally club banger after club banger whenever DJs did one of those classic sets.
In 2000 rapper DMX started his own label "Bloodline", and our very own Brain Collins (Kidd Cold ) an extremely accomplished producer, known by everyone in the music industry, not only in Buffalo but also people in the business all over the United States. Kidd Cold has produced songs for R&B singer Ashanti, rapper Foxy Brown, recording artist Loon, and of course, the late DMX.
I have known Kidd for quite some time, and I have learned many things from him as a DJ, and even more recently as a producer. I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with the legendary Buffalo producer to talk about his times with DMX. Kidd talked about some memorable moments. check out the interview below.
