CA BOCES is Hosting a Recruitment Day Event on April 28
The education sector can be an extremely rewarding place to work, whether you hold a position as a teacher, counselor, nurse, occupational therapist, psychologist, or social worker. Each of these types of jobs plays a key role in the life of a student, helping to ensure that they have the most fulfilling educational experience possible.
Employment in education is projected to grow 10 percent from 2020 to 2030, with 920,500 new jobs to be added during that same timeframe, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Schools are seeking highly qualified staff in a variety of areas at a growing rate, especially here in Western New York.
Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES, a regional leader in education services which offers state-of-the-art programs for learners of all ages and abilities across 22 school districts, is looking to expand its team of 600 full-time professional and support staff.
On Thursday, April 28, CA BOCES will be hosting a Recruitment Day for Teachers and Related Service Providers at their CTE Center in Olean, NY from 8:30am to 3:15pm. There will be twenty-two school districts present recruiting for approximately 90 anticipated openings.
The CA BOCES region is located in Cattaraugus, Allegany, Erie, and Wyoming counties in southwestern New York State, encompassing 2,159 square miles. School districts vary in size from rural, single campus K-12 settings to small city school districts. Average district K-12 enrollments ranged from approximately 300 to 2,606.
The region's needs are in most certification areas, with the highest needs being childhood education, special education, school counselors, school psychologist, visual arts, and speech/hearing.
Once a student signs up, we will schedule them for interviews, in 15 minute slots with any district for which they are interested (a full list of CA BOCES' districts can be found here). Additionally, while at the event they are welcome and encouraged to speak with any district that is represented.
