You’re Invited to Attend the Buffalo Urban League 2022 Gala
You are cordially invited to attend one of the premier community events in Western New York, the Buffalo Urban League's 2022 Annual Gala
Due to some of the lasting impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic, management at the Buffalo Urban League thought it would be best to make this year's gala event virtual. So you can sit back in the comfort of your own home and attend this important event. The best part is that gala is 100% free this year.
The Gala will take place on Saturday, March 26, 2022, and is happening online. While tickets are free, organizers ask that you still register. You can find the registration link here.
Hosted by Taylor Epps from WKBW Channel 7, festivities will begin at 6:00 PM with an online reception featuring raffles and live music. The program with Award Presentations to some distinguished honorees will follow shortly after.
The following people are being honored:
- John V. Elmore is being presented with the William L. Evans and Whitney M. Young Humanitarian Award
- Dorothy E. Hill is being presented with the Family Life Award
- Zandra A. Cunningham is being presented with the Emerging Leader Award
- Taniya Crosby is being presented with a National Fuel Scholarship
- Aniya Hughley & Luis Rodriguez, Jr. are being presented with the Outstanding Youth Award
- Julie Barrett-O'Neil from LISC Buffalo & Franchelle Parker from Open Buffalo is being presented with the Community Service Award
"The Gala supports the Buffalo Urban League's programs and services that annually make a positive difference in more than 25,000 lives. Since 1927, the Buffalo Urban League has brought positive change and opportunities for a better future to hundreds of thousands of lives in the Buffalo-Niagara region. Our services build strong and stable families through empowering African Americans, other minorities and disadvantaged individuals to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights. "
