A celebrated author of a New York Times Bestseller ('Kitty Genovese: A True Account of Public Murder and Its Private Consequences'), Catherine Pelonero, is a Buffalo native who has re-focused her writing skills in a new book scheduled for release in the Fall of 2017, called 'Absolute Madness'.

The book recalls a horrific time in Buffalo that had Buffalo's Black community in fear. Thirty-six years ago this month, a serial killer was killing black men at an alarming rate in gruesome fashion. The infamous killings were labeled "The .22 Caliber Killings".

Joseph Christopher targeted and killed  Black men in Buffalo to the extent that he actually removed the hearts of some of his victims.
