New York State Serial Killer Who Murdered 11 Finally Caught
Police in New York are finally getting closer to closing some cold cases. A suspect has been arrested in the brutal killings of 10 women and a toddler. The investigation began almost 13 years ago in December 2010. A Suffolk County Police Canine Unit found human remains along Ocean Parkway, near Gilgo Beach. Police recovered the remains of 10 other people in Suffolk and Nassau counties, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
Who Is The Long Island Serial Killer?
Police have arrested a 59-year-old architect named Rex Heuermann. He worked in New York City near the Empire State Building, but commuted from Massapequa Park on Long Island, according to the New York Times. Heuermann was arrested in Midtown on Thursday, July 13, 2023. It is possible that he committed some of the murders almost two decades ago. He is being charged with three counts of first-degree murder and is being held without bail. Heuermann's attorney claims he is innocent.
His neighbors told the NYT he wasn't very friendly and gave them the creeps. One of them, Mr. Ferchaw told the Times,
I wasn’t surprised at all — because of all the creepiness.
