The Buffalo Bills kicked off their only mandatory minicamp today at One Bills Drive in Orchard Park.

In attendance is safety Jordan Poyer, who was absent from all OTA's in May and June. However, we don't know for sure if he will be practicing today.

The Bills have 88 players on the roster right now, but they can bring 90 to training camp in late July. That means that general manager Brandon Beane can add another player or two if he so chooses, and on Monday, the Bills did add more veteran help along the offensive line.

The Bills have signed offensive lineman Greg Van Roten to a one-year deal.

Van Roten is 31 years old and has been in the NFL for eight seasons.

Van Roten has spent time with five NFL teams since 2012. He went undrafted out of the University of Pennsylvania and was out of the league from 2015-2016, playing in Canada for the Toronto Argonauts. He spent time with the Carolina Panthers and most recently, the New York Jets.

The Bills depth along the offensive line was a need going into the off-season and Beane has addressed that in spades.

Here are the free agent offensive lineman the Bills have signed since March.

  • Rodger Saffold
  • David Quessenberry
  • Greg Mancz
  • Greg Van Roten

Saffold appears to be the only starter there, but Quessenberry is capable of starting, as is Mancz. The Bills also still have Ike Boettger and Cody Ford, who is looking to rebound after two tough seasons.

Spencer Brown at right tackle might be the weak link on the line, but he had very good games last season. He just has to eliminate or lessen the weak games. He's still very young, only going into his second season.
