The Buffalo Bills are back at practice on Tuesday after having Monday off. The team is no longer at training camp, but still gearing up for a preseason game this Saturday against the Denver Broncos at Highmark Stadium.

The Bills had to be down to 80 players on the roster by 4 pm today, which all 32 NFL teams have to adhere to.

The Bills got a head start on Sunday, releasing four players, including cornerback Olajiah Griffin (who was claimed by former Bills assistant GM Joe Schoen with the New York Giants).

The Bills were at 86 players and decided to release not one, but two more players on Tuesday.

The Bills have announce the release of cornerback Tim Harris and linebacker Marquel Lee.

The move actually puts the Bills at 84 players now. They must be down to 80 players by next Tuesday. The big cutdown day will come on August 30th, when all teams have to be down to the 53-man roster. That will not count the players the Bills decide to bring back to the practice squad.

Harris was in tough for a roster spot. Tre’Davious White, Dane Jackson and rookie Kaiir Elam were guaranteed roster spots. Siran Neal is a cornerback as well, and offers huge help on special teams.

With the impressive play of 6th round rookie Christian Benford and the fact the Bills still have Cam Lewis, Harris making the roster was a long shot.

I’m assuming the Bills opt to keep six cornerbacks since it’s an important position, plus White is not back yet from ACL surgery.
