The Buffalo Bills have most of the roster set for the 2022 season, which is still four-plus months away. Free agency has wined down and the only major roster moves left is the NFL Draft next weekend and rookie free agents.

The Bills were extremely busy in free agency. General manager Brandon Beane made plenty of moves to bolster the roster, especially on defense. The Bills added five new defensive lineman, including stat edge rusher, Von Miller.

The Bills also signed wide receiver Jamison Crowder and traded for backup quarterback Case Keenum and brought back fan-favorite Matt Barkley as the third quarterback.

Barkley’s addition is more for a locker room voice and he’s good friends with Josh Allen, which always helps.

The Bills have a ton of players with new jersey numbers. Barkley has worn #7 or #5 most of his career, but will switch to #11 for his second stint in Buffalo.

Here are the rest of the new jersey numbers for the Bills in 2022.

Von Miller gets to keep his #40, while Keenum will wear #18. Like Barkley, he too usually wore #5 or #7 in the NFL. Those numbers are now taken up by wide receiver/kick returner Marquez Stevenson and cornerback Taron Johnson, who went from #24 to #7.

Both Shaq Lawson and Jordan Phillips get to keep their respective jersey numbers.

For some players, their uniform number doesn’t matter. For others, it’s hugely important and often holds a special meaning for them.
