If you remember last week, there was a bit of a controversy regarding free agent running back, J.D. McKissic.

McKissic had agreed to a contract with the Buffalo Bills last Tuesday afternoon, but 24 hours later, the news came that McKissic had changed his mind and had taken a similar contract offer to go back to the Washington Commanders.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane was noticeably upset when he talked about what went down with McKissic and Washington in last Friday's press conference, as Beane said the Commanders didn't back off once McKissic agreed to a deal with the Bills. An unwritten rule that was more or less, broken by Washington.

Even though Beane told the Pat McAfee Show today the Bills were pretty much done in free agency, the Bills did sneak in one more free agent signing on Monday, and it looks to be the replacement signing for McKissic.

The Bills have signed free agent running back Duke Johnson to a one-year contract, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Johnson was drafted in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns and the 28-year-old is considered a pass-catching running back who can be utilized on third down situations.

Johnson isn't as coveted as McKissic, but it's clear the Bills wanted a pass-catching running back to help out Josh Allen. Both offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey and quarterbacks coach, Josh Brady covet pass-catching running backs in their offense.

I would also expect the Bills to draft a running back on day three of the NFL Draft in late April.
