The 2022 NFL Draft is just nine days away and by now, we have already cycled through countless mock drafts and numerous scenarios for the Buffalo Bills at pick 25.

I think I'm confide t saying the Bills will take either wide receiver or cornerback at pick 25, barring a trade back and even then, they're likely still taking one. Running back has a small possibility as well with the likes of Breece Hall, but perhaps rounds 2-4 would be better suited for a running back.

Fans and experts have mocked other positions throughout the NFL Draft to the Bills, such as interior offensive line, tight end and punter. There is one position the Bills probably need to address though in this draft and it simply is not being talked about enough.

The Bills should draft a safety before round 6 next weekend.

Why though?

As great as Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde have been for the Bills since 2017, they're not getting any younger.

Poyer is about to turn 31 and Hyde will be 32 this December. I think they both have another 2-3 years of good to great football left in them, but you simply don't know after age 30.

Their contract situations are also a reason why.

Poyer just hired Drew Rosenhaus as his new agent, as he only has one year remaining on his current contract. Poyer likely wants one last contract, and to pay him what he's worth after arguably his best season in the NFL, but looking at the Bills roster, I'm not sure if Buffalo can afford him long term.

Ed Oliver and Dawson Knox will also soon need new contracts. The Bills are paying Josh Allen huge money, and also Tre White, Matt Milano, Dion Dawkins, Stefon Diggs and Von Miller. They also need to address what happens long term with Tremaine Edmunds.

Poyer and Hyde have also stayed healthy, but one injury could be bad news for the Bills at safety.

I would put hard earned money on safety being taken at some point in the 2022 NFL Draft.
