The start of the NFL Free Agency period begins on March 16th at 4 pm, which is only three and a half weeks away.

The Buffalo Bills are strapped for cap room. They're projected to have virtually zero cap room, which means general manager Brandon Beane has some serious work to do in order to create cap space. That includes restructuring current long-term contracts and releasing potential cap casualties.

The Bills need to re-sign some of their own players as well, which includes key offensive players like guard Ryan Bates, running back Taiwan Jones, and wide receivers Isaiah McKenzie, Jake Kumerow and Emmanuel Sanders.

The only wide receivers currently under contract are Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis, excluding practice squad players.

If the Bills are looking for help at both wide receiver and running back, then they might look no further than upcoming unrestricted free agent, Cordarrelle Patterson, who spent the 2021 season with the Atlanta Falcons.

Patterson will turn 31 years old on March 17th, but saw a career resurgence last season with the Falcons, spending much of his time at running back. He had nearly 1,200 combined rushing and receiving yards with 11 touchdowns on offense.

Patterson might be very interested in coming to the Bills. He showed his hand by liking this tweet from Talking Buffalo Podcast host, Patrick Moran.

Patterson started his career with the Minnesota Vikings in 2015 and is former teammates with Stefon Diggs, which could also factor in.

Patterson will be 31 but he's extremely athletic and versatile. He can play running back, wide receiver and return kicks, which is crucial for the Bills and with an offense led by Ken Dorsey and new QB coach, Joe Brady.

Patterson would be a tremendous addition for the Bills. Your move, Brandon Beane.
