Brandon Beane Says He’s to Blame For This Player Regret [TWEET]
One of the things people love the most about Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane is that he’s genuine and honest.
Beane doesn’t shy away from saying things that give the media and fans insights on what goes on behind the scenes, unlike other front office personnel who tote the company like at every turn.
Beane recapped the 2022 NFL Draft with the Buffalo media on Saturday. He talked about satisfying the need for a cornerback with Kaiir Elam, along with great value in wide receiver. Khalil Shakir in round 5 and drafting punter Matt Araiza in round 6.
Beane also mentioned a past move when talking about guard Cody Ford, who will battle in training camp this August.
Beane said that the Wyatt Teller trade back in 2019 was on him.
Teller was a 5th round draft pick by the Bills. After being a plug and play guard in year one with modest success, he was traded with a 7th round pick to the Cleveland Browns for a 5th and 6th round pick.
Teller proceeded to be a breakthrough player and has since gone to two Pro Bowls for the Browns since then.
I love that Beane took the fall there. Every GM and head coach makes mistakes. They’re human, we’re all human. Beane saying that trade being a mistake is so refreshing.
Teller being a stud in Cleveland is cool to see but we wish it was in Buffalo.
