New York campgrounds are now open to full capacity. Campers who are hoping to get out and enjoy nature can finally get back to going camping again. There aren't many restrictions and the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) says that its sites are now open for full capacity according to Spectrum News.

A couple of years ago we took advantage of the beautiful campgrounds here in the Capital Region and the North Country. We went to the area where Frontier Town used to be and is aptly named after the old amusement park. It was amazing. There were sites that had a fire pit for cooking, an area to set up tents, fully working bathrooms and showers plus walking trails and lakes. I am so happy to hear that that facility is open to full capacity too.

The DEC recommends that you make reservations ahead of your planned camping trip. They say that reservations are at an all-time high. There are fifty-two campgrounds to choose from throughout the Adirondacks and Catskills. The campgrounds have a wide range of amenities and experiences. There is island camping, tent and trailer camping, boat launching facilities, beaches, hiking trails, beaches along with picnic tables and grills. You can book day-use, overnight, or several day trips. They say that the Lake George region is already at heavy use this season.
