It looks like fans can look forward to another season of the hit show “Black-ish” as ABC has renewed the comedy for a sixth season. Fans can also look forward to the show’s new spinoff “Mixed-ish,” which is centered on the childhood of Tracee Ellis Ross’ character Rainbow Johnson.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the prequel will be set in the 1980s and will feature Arica Himmell playing the role of a young Rainbow Johnson.

According to the synopsis, “Mixed-ish” “revolves around young Bow as she recounts her experience growing up in a mixed-race family in the ’80s and the dilemmas they faced over whether to assimilate or stay true to themselves when her parents move from a hippie commune to the suburbs.”

An episode of “Black-ish” entitled “Mixed-ish” was scheduled to air on May 7th, but now the episode will air next season.
