The Buffalo Bills are gearing up for their second preseason game, which will be played this Saturday at 1 pm against the Denver Broncos at Highmark Stadium.

The Bills currently have a nine-game winning streak in the preseason, dating back to 2018. It's a streak many fans may not be aware of and that's probably because the preseason games, in the end, do not matter.

Preseason games are mean to help players on the bubble and rookies who are looking to impress and make the roster. There are still some coaches who decide on playing starters in the preseason and head coach Sean McDermott is one of them.

McDermott announced on Thursday morning that Josh Allen and many of the starters will play a "healthy amount" in Saturday's preseason game against the Broncos.

McDermott added that there are several reasons why Allen will play, mainly to get used to hearing offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey in his headset, calling plays in a game situation.

It's unclear just how many starters will play and how much they will play. A healthy amount might suggest the entire first half, which happened last year against the Green Bay Packers.

McDermott believes in getting the starters in for at least one preseason game, as he has done it every year he's been a HC in Buffalo. However, there is a growing number of coaches who do not play starters in any preseason game, most famously Sean McVay, who the Bills will face when they visit the Los Angeles Rams on September 8th to open the regular season.
