Bills Spencer Brown Fined By NFL, FitzMagic Offers To Pay It
The NFL has had its sights on players for the Buffalo Bills over the last few weeks. The league's Gameday Accountability process has issued fines against several team players this year, hitting their pockets and taking a few dollars directly from their paychecks.
Taylor Rapp, Joe Andreessen, Taron Johnson, Dion Dawkins, Dawuane Smoot, and O'Cyrus Torrence have been hit with financial penalties from the league. While Andreessen's fine has been rescinded, the rest of the team seems to have a target on their back from league officials. Now, we need to add another player to this list, as Bills Offensive Lineman Spencer Brown got a notification that he's being docked some pay.
During the NFL Week 10 game against the Indianapolis Colts, Spencer was flagged by the league for coming to defend Josh Allen after the Colts' Nick Cross took down JA17 after he scored a touchdown. Brown ran up to Cross and got right in his face after what many felt was a late hit from the Colts defender. It appears the league took issue, not with Cross, but with Brown, and then fined him around $12,000.
While it's a shame Brown is being hit with that financial penalty from the league, it doesn't impact his check too much, as former Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has offered to pay his fines, just as he did with Buffalo Joe Andreessen.
Fitz has really been stepping up in his role as a favorite Bills legend. If he keeps paying the fines of Bills players, he will be reaching deep into his pockets, as the totals could run well above six figures.
