Vice President Mike Pence has full confidence in Betsy DeVos to serve as Education Secretary, however, those sentiments are not shared by some local leaders such as . Sam Radford, President of District Parent Coordinating Council for Buffalo Public Schools. According to News Reports, the senate voted 52 to 48 to advance the nomination to a final confirmation vote on Friday.

Radford said, “Her clear lack of experience and exposure to what’s going on in public schools is a serious concern.”

Betsy DeVos is a supporter of charter schools and school vouchers which some say will give states more control over education.
