Another Postal Carrier Charged for Not Delivering Mail
I wonder what's up the some of our postal service workers, according to WIVB, a postal worker has been charged with failing to deliver over 1000 pieces of mail.
30-year-old Sean Barrett has been arrested. The Lewiston Police Department notified the U.S Postal Service Office of Inspector General on October 13, 2020, that mail had been found in a wooded area in Youngstown New york.
There were two garbage bags and three mail bins which had about 1300 pieces of mail including first-class, certified, and standard mail. Some of the mail found was political mailings and one blank election ballot that was headed for a Youngstown address.
According to the Assistant U.S Attorney, a check of U.S Postal Service records shows that Barrett's scanner was dormant on October 13, 2020, for a few hours, where the mail pieces were found. If Sean Barrett is convicted he could be facing up to five years in prison and a $250 fine.
I personally know a few U.S Postal workers, I hear all the time about how the job can be demanding, " Rain, sleet or snow", the job has to be done. I do know one thing for sure if I knew that I could possibly face jail time for not delivering mail, believe me, your mail would be early.
