At the end of next week, Young Thug fans will be able to pick up Slime Season 3, the Atlanta rapper's third full-length mixtape in less than five months. The first two installments of that series each received considerable acclaim; they came in the wake of Barter 6, another critically and popularly adored mixtape from April of last year. Thug has been nothing if not prolific, and in doing so has caught the attention of most of the industry's power players. And while it's no secret that Kanye West is a fan of the younger, wildly experimental rapper, some observers would be shocked to learn the extent of the collaboration between the two.

During an appearance on The Angie Martinez Show--for which 300 Entertainment boss Lyor Cohen joined in--Thug described the 40 or more songs he has with West as "amazing," but says he can't go into too much detail due to non-disclosure agreements. "We did a lot of songs, a lot of riddims," Thug said. "We're just getting them together now. Unfortunately, I can't give you a date on that, due to the papers I signed with him."

Martinez tried to press Thug for details, but the young rapper held fast to those contracts. Even Cohen seemed to be in the dark on the new material, saying he was "desperate to listen" and had yet to hear any material. Yet he said that he felt it was only natural Kanye would want to work with Thug, given the latter's obvious promise. "You have two of the most creative forces in this game today, collaborating," he said, explaining that artists of Ye's stature need to stay current with the best up-and-comers.

There is no time table set for any impending releases, but speculation has already begun as to whether Thug will appear on West's Waves, which is due out Feb. 11.
