YNW Melly Is Reportedly Now A Suspect In The 2017 Fatal Shooting Of A Police Deputy
YNW Melly is reportedly now being considered a suspect in the 2017 fatal shooting of off-duty deputy, Gary Chambliss, of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Department.
According to a VeroNews report, a source who agreed to speak on the incident on the condition of anonymity said that Jamell Demons (YNW Melly) and Cortlen Henry (YNW Bortlen) were at the scene of the shooting of deputy Gary Chambliss.
According to the source, both rappers were reportedly standing in a group and firing gunshots when a stray bullet struck deputy Chambliss, who was standing 170 yards away.
Detectives reportedly believe that one of the rappers fired the fatal shot that claimed Chambliss’ life. Head of the Sheriff’s Office’s criminal investigations division, Captain Tony Consalo, did not confirm if both rappers are suspects, but did say detectives working the case will attempt to talk to them.
Captain Consalo said,
“After that shooting in Miramar, our detectives will be following up for possible information in connection to the Garry Chambliss homicide. Perhaps, given their current situation, they might be able to shed some light on the case.”
As we previously reported, YNW Melly and YNW Bortlen were charged with two counts of first-degree murder after authorities accused them of killing two friends, and then staging the incident to make it look like they were killed in a drive-by-shooting.
