Missing Blacks Receive Less Media Coverage?

Phylicia Simone Barnes went missing on December 28, 2010 and there has been very little national media coverage of her disappearance. As anyone reading this blog knows that we live in a European dominated society that pretty much sets the standard for much of what we read and view in newspapers and watch on television. From the time of slavery up to now in this country, African life was/has never really been valued by those who make the majority of the decisions when it comes to a number of things in America--media included. There have been several missing persons of African descent over the years and we never see anything about it on network television. If you watch the clip that I have attached below, the Maryland police department is asking why has Phylicia Barnes been ignored in national media.
