It's always cool when there is something near and dear to our hearts in Buffalo and Western New York that makes national news elsewhere. Buffalo is the "biggest small town" that you will probably ever come across and it's because we're so proud of the community here.

In case you missed the news earlier this week, the West Seneca Police Department were called to a home where a family dog named Buttercup was trapped under the house that was located on Clinton Street.

The rescue effort took multiple officers and they even needed to create a bigger hole in order to get to Buttercup, because the space just wasn't big enough to reach.

After some agonizing time, West Seneca Police were able to pull Buttercup to safety.

On Tuesday night, the news of Buttercup's rescue by the West Seneca Police Department made national headlines as CBS News got a hold of the video and put it out on social media for the country (and world) to see!

CBS News called it, "BURIED BUTTERCUP."

The West Seneca Police Department does an outstanding job in the Western New York community and it doesn't hurt that the Twitter and Facebook account for the department is a must-follow for Buffalonians. If you are not following them on Twitter or Facebook, I highly suggest doing so.

It's so cool that a local police department just made headlines around the country! I'm sure Buttercup is happy too.
