Perhaps what has been billed as the biggest game of the 2024/25 NFL season went down in Kansas City as the Buffalo Bills traveled to Missouri to face the Chiefs for the second time this year. The first game, as we know, went down in favor of Buffalo who beat the defending Super Bowl Champions 30-21 in a week 11 battle in Buffalo. Their second meeting, however, has much more meaning as these teams are now facing each other for the 4th time in the last five years. The winner of the game takes a trip to New Orleans as the AFC Champions, while the loser goes home to watch the big game on TV.

The game started with Buffalo receiving the opening kickoff and quickly going three-and-out. That gave Kansas City the ball, and they did not waste the opportunity to score, as the Chiefs took just over 5 minutes to move the ball 90 yards to score. Kareem Hunt took a 12-yard run and scooted right into the end zone to put the first points on the board for KC.

Buffalo wouldn't be denied points for long as the Bills were able to put up two straight scores. Tyler Bass put up three points after hitting a 53-yard field goal towards the end of the 1st quarter. The Bills defense forced a fumble at the end of the first quarter that set up James Cook to be able to scamper 6 yards to get into the end zone for another Buffalo score.

Kansas City would not be stopped on its next two drives as Patrick Mahomes was able to engineer two scoring drives for the Chiefs, one ended with an 11-yard touchdown pass to Xavier Worthy and the other Mahomes took the ball himself into the end zone with a 1-yard touchdown run.

Those two scores, which gave KC a 21-10 lead, had Bills fans starting to feel like the game was starting to get out of hand, but the Josh Allen and the Bills offense had something special for the KC defense as Allen tossed a 34-yard strike to Mack Hollins who snagged the ball in the end zone to score at the end of the second quarter.

The Buffalo Bills truly started to make a game of things in the second half, and it started with the defense forcing the Chiefs to punt on their first drive of the 3rd quarter. When the Bills took possession, they drove 80 yards to score on a 4th-down 1-yard James Cook touchdown reception. The team went for the two-point conversion, which failed, but the team was able to take the lead again, 22-21.

If this game wasn't already a battle for the ages, the Chiefs made sure to turn the energy of the game up. After Buffalo failed to convert a fourth-and-one on the Kansas City 41-yard line, the Chiefs were able to take that turnover on downs and earn 8 points from it. Mahomes ran 10 yards to score a touchdown and then tossed a pass to Justin Watson in the back of the end zone for a 2-point conversion, giving Kansas City the lead 29-22.

On the ensuing drive, Josh Allen and the Bills answered right back with a 70-yard drive that ended with Curtis Samuel hauling in a 4-yard touchdown pass from Josh Allen to tie the game at 29. The following drive by KC resulted in more points for the Chiefs as Harrison Butker was able to boot a 35-yard field goal, giving the lead back to Kansas City.

As the game came to a close, the Bills turned the ball over on downs again after a fourth down pass from Allen fell incomplete and the 57th meeting between these two teams since 1960 ended in epic fashion as the Kansas City Chiefs were able to hold on to win, earning their 3rd consecutive trip to the Super Bowl.

This game marks the end of the Bills season and the 4th time it has been ended by the Chiefs.
