Was Nicki Minaj Throwing Shade During BET Speech? Watch This! [VIDEO]

Nicki Minaj had a big night at the BET Awards, but during her Viewer's Choice Acceptance Speech some say she was taking shots at people who gave up on their dreams and want to blame her for their lack of success. Who could she be talking about? Find out here.

First of all I think it's funny that she's received so many awards from BET that she didn't even know what she was up their accepting at first. So it was clear that she didn't have a speech prepared; she just started talking and subtly calls someone out for ‘giving up’ on their career as an artist.

“Don’t give up on yourself no matter what,” Nicki said in her memorable speech. “This is for everyone in this room. I want to tell you to please make it your business to follow your dreams because one day you will look around and your dream will be gone and you will be mad at somebody. But be mad at your g–d—self.”

She concluded by flipping her hair, flashing a smile and walking off the stage. Many are saying the diss was directed at Lil Kim, who just rocked the stage in a surprise performance in the Bad Boy reunion with Diddy.

But I think the diss makes more sense directed at her ex-boyfriend of 12 years Safareee, who in so many ways blames Nicki Minaj for his lack of success (he wants to be a rapper to). As if watching Meek and Nicki holding hands and singing to each other wasn't heartbreaking enough for the poor guy!
