As the Delta variant continues to spread, there are still people that reluctant to get the vaccine. I must admit, I was one of them back when they were first released. Just like many Americans, I had many concerns and questions as well. Now a year later there is more information available, which is making it easier for people to take the shot. Now, according to wivb.com, Unvaccinated people will have a little bit of an extra incentive to get it done.

President Joe Biden recently announced that federal workers will need to "attest" to being vaccinated or wear masks. This is the nation's largest mask mandate, which will affect millions of workers. This is a really big push to get everyone vaccinated. The President is also asking state and local governments to offer $100.00 to people who get vaccinated going forward. The President is pretty sure that offering direct payments will get results.

There have been other incentives like lottery tickets in other states in the past that did ok, but not as good as direct payments will do in my opinion. Now that people are afraid of going back to that way thing where one year ago, I really think we will start to see everyone step up and get it done. In Western New York cases have been slightly on the rise which is why I think this incentive will help motivate everyone who is not vaccinated at this point.

I'm excited to see the progress after this recent announcement.
