The Buffalo Urban League Receives Award For It’s Community Work
The Buffalo Urban League has been a large part of the city of Buffalo for a long time, the organization is known for providing a platform for young black urban professionals, as well as helping people in the community.
Bank of America names the Buffalo Urban League 'Neighborhood Champion', this is an incredible accomplishment, as 'Neighborhood Champion' the organization will receive both grant funding and leadership training. The Neighborhood Champion program is a grant that provides $ 50,000.00 for support and virtual leadership training to not-for-profit organizations.
The Buffalo Urban League is looking to using the funding from the grant to keep up with the demand for the services that the Urban League provides. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been an increase in services needed. The organization will also be able to deliver virtual leadership training from experts in the nonprofit sector in a safe and socially distant way.
It's always good to see Buffalo organizations recognized for the great things that they do in our community, I have worked with the Buffalo Urban League a few in the past while providing music for some of their awards dinners and dances. In my opinion, the organization has always done great work in our community and this is a well-deserved award.
