As part of Black History Month, Spectrum Health and Human Services created three inspirational posters that are now displayed in the agency’s sites in Erie, Niagara, Wyoming, and Cattaraugus counties.

One poster includes 10 African American social justice and human service profession leaders, some of whom are from Western New York. They will be featured in relevant social media posts twice a week throughout the month. Watch the Spectrum Health Voices blog for a Black History Month post from a clinical leader, too.

Spectrum Health's Black History Month celebration is part of its commitment to engaging with the community and treating employees with respect. In addition to providing behavioral health and addiction counseling services, Spectrum Health gives back by making Christmas cookies for homeless shelters, partnering with a Buffalo Public School to make care bags for local veterans, and providing toys and other gifts for several local families for the holidays. Those are just a few examples.

Spectrum Health employees can be proud that Spectrum Health does good work in the community while valuing a healthy work-life balance for employees. Leadership builds and maintains rapport with team members that foster trust, respect, and value. Their service to their clients is stellar, and they work collaboratively to effective, evidence-based solutions to their needs. The work is challenging and the sense of fulfillment is extraordinary.

Spectrum Health presently is hiring for several nursing, clinical and administrative roles across the agency, including:

  • A registered nurse on the Assertive Community Treatment team in Niagara Falls
  • A health home care coordinator based in the Main Street location in Buffalo
