It's has been a very long time since Buffalo has had a professional basketball team to cheer for. I'm sure that many people in Buffalo would like to be able to see an NBA game here in Western New York.

According to WIVB, Senator Tim Kennedy would like to host the Raptors at the Keybank Center. Travel to Canada is restricted due to the coronavirus pandemic, as you may remember the Toronto Blue Jays was forced to move their games to Sahlen Field this summer.

The fact that we had the Blue Jays play here and our community came together in a moment's notice, and were able to host not only this incredible major league team but doing in such order was a demonstration of what we have as a community.

Kennedy wrote a letter to the NBA commissioner Adam Silver, making his case for why he believes that Buffalo and the Key Bank Center would be a great temporary home away from home for the Toronto Raptors. In my opinion, I think this would be a great idea for a number of reasons, it would help local businesses in the downtown area, and give basketball fans a chance to see NBA superstars, right in their own backyard.
