Congrats to civil rights activist and minister Reverend Al Sharpton.  The network announced Tuesday that Sharpton has been officially named the host of “PoliticsNation” on weeknights at  6 p.m. starting  August 29th.

Sharpton has been filling in as host of the hour long program for many weeks but no official announced had been made until yesterday.  He replaces Cenk Uygur who left MSNBC in July.

According to post-gazette.com, Sharpton called the hosting job “a natural extension of my life work and growth.”

Rev. Sharpton has over 40 years of experience as a community leader, politician, minister and advocate. He is one of American’s most renowned civil rights leaders.  Sharpton can also be heard on the Tom Joyner Morning Show.
