Quadruple Shooting at JFK Park Shocks Neighborhood
The latest shooting in Buffalo has left 4 people injured, at least one of them remains in serious condition.
According to reporting by WKBW-TV, shots rang out around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at JFK Park in Buffalo's Emslie neighborhood. Those shots struck 4 different people who were in the park, two of the people were children.
Officials report that a 24 year-old-man, a 21-year-old man, a 14-year-old boy, and an 8-year-old boy were shot. The 24-year-old man and the two boys were treated at the John R. Oishei Children's Hospital and released. The 21-year-old man was listed in critical condition after going into surgery at the Erie County Medical Center.
Police investigators state that this appears to be a shooting that was targeted towards the two men and involved more than one shooter. Unfortunately, the 2 boys were innocent bystanders who were caught in the crossfire while playing on the nearby basketball courts.
Crimes Stoppers are offering a reward of at least $5,000 for information about this incident. Buffalo Police detectives are actively seeking details to help solve this shooting.
