As a fairly regular Dollar General shopper, there are some things I expect to see, like stocking carts blocking the aisles and no one at the register, but I would never expect this. A New York man exposed himself while checking out at a Dollar General in the Southern Tier.

Per New York State's penal code, "A person is guilty of exposure if he appears in a public place in such a manner that the private or intimate parts of his body are unclothed or exposed. For purposes of this section, the private or intimate parts of a female person shall include that portion of the breast which is below the top of the areola. This section shall not apply to the breastfeeding of infants or to any person entertaining or performing in a play, exhibition, show or entertainment."

It may just be me, but I have seen an increased number of sexual assault and other related cases since January. It seems like perverts are feeling more comfortable in committing their crimes. There are many predators who parade themselves around as religious leaders, coaches, teachers, police officers, politicians, and other supposed upstanding members of society.

Southern Tier Man Exposes Himself At Cash Register

A man in Dollar General decided to expose himself while checking out. According to New York State Troopers out of Amity, the incident happened on Monday, October 20, 2025. A 59-year-old male, Mitchell A. Derosia of Bolivar, intentionally exposed his genitals in public. Around 11 am on Monday, NYSP Troopers responded to the Dollar Tree store on Main Street in the village of Bolivar after receiving a call about the incident. Derosia was allegedly fully exposing himself while he was checking out of the store. He was taken to the Allegany County Holding Center for arraignment.
