Police Fire Shots at DUI Suspect, Pedestrian & Driver Killed On Crash Site

On Thursday Night, two people died on the corner of Fillmore Ave and the 33 and one police officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. All of this over a suspected DUI. 

Around 7pm Thursday night, friendly neighbor Ida Murphy, 54 set out on her way to the local store. Issac Parker, 48, was driving with a revoked license on Fillmore and Best when Police pulled him over to check his blood alcohol level.

As the officers were trying to turn off the ignition, Parker hit the accelerator, dragging one of the officers along for the ride. The other Policeman shot Parker, trying to release his partner.

Apparently it worked but later, the wounded driver lost control of his car and slammed into a row of light polls near the 33. One of these light posts crushed Ida Murphy, who was walking on the Fillmore sidewalk.

Both Murphy and Parker died on the scene. Police say the cause of death is blunt force trauma.

WOW, all over a DUI traffic stop!

If the Police didn't shoot this man he and Ms. Murphy might still be alive!
